Who we are

Ranna is published by Mahmoud Ahmed, in France (“we”). We’re responsible for the little data described here. For anything about your privacy, write to support@rannabudget.com.

What stays on your iPhone

Everything Ranna knows about your money: payments, the bank texts and receipts you send it, accounts, budgets, bills, plans, goals and money owed. It’s kept in an encrypted database on your phone.

Smart reading and voice run on your iPhone; what you say and the texts it reads never leave it. Reminders and alerts are made on your iPhone too: Ranna has no push server.

What reaches our server, only if you turn it on

• Automatic backup: a copy of your data, locked on your phone with your recovery key before it’s sent. We keep the newest copy and one older one, in the European Union, and can’t open them.
• Families: what you share, locked with a key only your family’s phones have.
• Downloads: smart reading and voice fetch their files from our server, through a link that works for a day.
• Genuine app check: each request proves it comes from a real copy of Ranna, with Apple’s App Attest. We keep a random number for your phone, not its name or your Apple Account.

Our server runs on Cloudflare, which handles your IP address to deliver each request. We don’t store IP addresses.

How long we keep it

• Backups: until you delete them, or 12 months after the last copy.
• Families: until the family ends, or a year after anyone last opened it.
• Invites: deleted a day after they stop working.
• Genuine app checks: forgotten after 400 days without a request.

This website

rannabudget.com sets no cookies and runs no tracking scripts, and its font is served from this site. We only see overall visit counts from Cloudflare.

What we never do

• No account, no email, no phone number.
• No ads, no trackers, no analytics in the app.
• No access to your contacts.
• We don’t sell, rent or share data. We don’t have any to sell.

Payments and Apple

Ranna Pro is bought through Apple, under Apple’s own privacy policy. We only learn that this phone has Pro.

Children

Ranna isn’t meant for children under 13.

Your choices and rights

Turn backup off and delete it from our server, leave a family, or delete Ranna to remove everything on your phone. We don’t know who you are, so we can’t look you up, but write to us and we’ll help.

If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have the rights the GDPR gives you, including access, deletion and complaining to your data protection authority. We process the data above because you asked for the feature it serves.

Changes

If this changes, we’ll update this page and its date. Big changes are told in the app first.
