Getting started
- Is Ranna free?
- Yes. Ranna is free to use. Free includes 10 smart readings and 3 voice entries a month. Ranna Pro adds starting a family, automatic backup, widgets and export, and lifts those limits.
- Which iPhones does it work on?
- iPhones with iOS 16.4 or later. Smart reading needs an iPhone with enough memory for its model, and a few Shortcuts triggers need a recent iOS.
- How does Ranna catch my payments?
- With Shortcuts automations you set up once, with Ranna’s guide: one for Apple Pay taps in Wallet, one for bank texts in Messages, and others for bank app notifications and email receipts. You can also type a payment, say it, ask Siri, or share a screenshot.
- Which banks does it read?
- Any bank or wallet that sends texts, notifications or emails: Ranna learns a bank’s format from its first message. It already lists CIB, NBE, Banque Misr, QNB, HSBC, Banque du Caire, AAIB, Vodafone Cash, InstaPay, and Revolut, N26, Wise in Europe.
- Which languages and currencies?
- Ranna is in English and Arabic, with French coming. It works in any currency: a payment in another currency counts in your home one, at your bank’s amount or at a rate.
Privacy and safety
- Does Ranna read all my messages?
- No. It only sees the bank texts your Shortcut hands it, and it reads them on your iPhone. Ranna can’t open your Messages.
- Is my data uploaded?
- Not unless you turn on automatic backup or join a family. Then it’s locked on your phone first, with keys only you, or your family’s phones, have.
- I lost my iPhone. Can I get my data back?
- If automatic backup was on, install Ranna on your new iPhone: it finds your backup, and your recovery key in iCloud Keychain. Without the key, nobody can open the backup, not even us.
- How do I delete my data?
- Delete Ranna to remove everything on your iPhone. To remove your backup from our server too, turn off automatic backup in Ranna first and choose to delete it.
Families and money owed
- How do I join a family?
- Open the invite link someone sent you and ask to join. You’ll both see the same four-digit check code; once they let you in, you’re in. Joining is free.
- Who sees what in a family?
- Only what you share: one payment at a time, every payment from a card you pick, and bills or plans. You choose everyone, or only some people. Your other payments stay on your phone.
- How does splitting a bill work?
- Open a payment and tap Split this. Your share counts as your spending; the rest is owed to you. Ask on WhatsApp in one tap, and when the money comes in, Ranna ticks it off.
Ranna Pro
- What does Pro cost?
- Prices are shown in the App Store in your currency: yearly, with free days to try it, or once for life. You buy and manage it through Apple.
- Do family members need Pro?
- No. Starting a family needs Pro; joining one is free.
- How do I cancel?
- In iPhone Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Lifetime never renews.
